Exceptional antique and archaeological jewelry — previously acquired
Here, for your viewing pleasure, are some pieces that are no longer available for sale, but which I invite you to discover, as some of them were extremely rare. A little like people, some leave a more lasting impression and memories than others. I particularly remember this blue Roman glass token, the ancestor of our theatre tickets, which I found very difficult to part with! Or this breastplate button, featuring a fire-breathing dragon, created by a goldsmith of Napoleon III, which became a superb ring. From Sekmet, the lion goddess, whose magnificent blue colour was still dazzling after three thousand years. Other objects are less flamboyant, more discreet, but how moving it is to hold them in the palm of your hand: bronze bracelets worn by a child who lived in the Iron Age, or earrings worn by a woman in the time of Alexander the Great. In all humility, but with a keen awareness that I am contemplating a fragment of eternity, I feel like a lucky messenger.
